About Gifting Joy
Gifting Joy Inc is a non-profit organization that provides practical and helpful gifts to bone marrow transplant (BMT) patients at Duke hospital. BMT patients typically reside in the hospital 3-4 weeks. Gifting Joy gives items to these patients and their families to make this time as easy as possible. Popular gifts last year included memory foam pillows, sound machines, restaurant gift cards, and good toilet paper.

Meet Alexa
In 2021, I was diagnosed with leukemia at the age of 28. After many rounds of chemotherapy, we were told that I needed a bone marrow transplant (BMT). Going through BMT was the hardest thing I've ever had to do but it put me on the path to recovery.
A BMT is a very difficult experience for patients and their families. Not only do patients go through rough physical changes, but their families typically live in the unit on couches.
Gifting Joy helps these patients and families directly by using 100% of donations for useful and practical items that will make this time easier.
